چکیده
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of the treatment of refractory atopic dermatitis with dust mite allergen vaccine through sublingual immunotherapy. Methods: To adopt the self control research, compare the eczema area and severity index (EASI), percentage of skin damage area (BSA%) and change in pruritus scoring and drug use scoring of 35 patients with dust mite allergen and refractory atopic dermatitis after receiving the treatment with dust mite allergen vaccine and sublingual immunotherapy for 1 year, and observe recurrence. Results: 31 patients insist in completing the course of treatment for 1 year and 4 patients quit. Eczema area and severity index (EASI), percentage of skin damage area (BSA%) and change in pruritus scoring and drug use scoring after treatment obviously reduce (P mean<0.01) compared with those before treatment. The effective rate is 77.41%. Adverse reactions related to treatment do not obviously occur. The recurrence rate is 9.67% after 1-year follow-up. Conclusion: The sublingual allergen immunotherapy is an effective method with good safety to treat refractory atopic dermatitis caused by dust mite.

Treatment of Patients with Refractory Atopic Dermatitis Sensitized to House Dust Mites by Using Sublingual Allergen Immunotherapy
Even though atopic dermatitis (AD) is one of the most common chronic inflammatory skin diseases, its treatment remains a challenge in clinical practice, with most approaches limited to symptomatic, unspecific anti-inflammatory, or immunosuppressive treatments. Many studies have shown AD to have multiple causes that activate complex immunological and inflammatory pathways. However, aeroallergens...

AIM To investigate differences in the efficacy of sublingual immunotherapy with Dermatophagoides farinae drops in monosensitized and polysensitized allergic rhinitis patients. METHODS The patients enrolled in the study were treated for more than one year by sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) using Dermatophagoides farinae drops and were divided into a monosensitized group (n = 20) and a polysens...

BACKGROUND Atopic dermatitis often has an allergic component, and immunotherapy may therefore prove beneficial. OBJECTIVE To assess the effect of sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) in children with atopic dermatitis. METHODS Children age 5 to 16 years with atopic dermatitis (Scoring Atopic Dermatitis [SCORAD] > 7) and sensitization to dust mites alone, without food allergy or chronic asthma, w...

Background Atopic Dermatitis is a disease with high prevalence in Italy (about 15% of the population). As known, Atopic Dermatitis is often associated with respiratory allergy to mite.We previously showed that sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) to mite has a beneficial clinical effect in patients with allergic extrinsic Atopic Dermatititis (AD). To investigate the long term effects, we performed a...
